Provincial Sport Science Program

This program is designed to provide sport science and sport medicine services that enhance the daily training environment of provincial level athletes.  These services are delivered, in coordination with the provincal technical coach to those athletes identified as members of Team Alberta.  An integrated approach is taken when analyzing the Yearly Training Plan to ensure that appropriate services are provided to the athletes at the appropriate times throughout their training.

Services can include, but are not limited to:

  • Exercise Physiology testing and monitoring 
  • Strength & Conditioning prescription
  • Mental training & strategy
  • Performance Nutrition
  • Medicial evaluations and assessments
  • Movement screens and assessments

This program focuses on sports identified in the Alberta Targeted Sports Strategy by the Alberta Sport Development Centre network (2016).  For athletes to be eligible to participate in this program, they MUST be identified by their respective PSO/NSO as a membe of the provincial training group.
