Daniels finishes 4th at Youth Olympic Games

Hayden Daniels (Calgary, Alta.) nearly claimed a medal at Marina Bay Reservoir. Daniels won his quarterfinal matchup then fell short in the semifinal, setting up a head-to-head race for bronze with Anatoli Melnyk (UKR). Trailing late in the race, Daniels made a huge charge, ultimately running out of water and placing fourth. “It would have been nice to beat a sprinter in the end, but they’re so fast in a straight line,” Daniels said.

 

The Alberta Sport Development Centre - Calgary Region in partnership with the Town of Canmore and the Town of Banff, will be hosting a Performance Enhancement Seminar on Long Term Athlete Development. 

This standard 7 stage LTAD framework (with additional information for  athletes with a disability) will provide you with new knowledge and strategies that you can use tomorrow with your young athletes.  This seminar is open to all athletes, coaches, parents, teachers and other sport enthusiasts in the community.

2010 Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium

The Alberta Youth Olympic Symposium (AYOS) is an exciting leadership development program for Alberta high school students.

The 18th session of AYOS will be held April 29 - May 2, 2010 in Calgary.

The application deadline is February 28, 2010.
