Alberta Ski Team Nutrition Program Gets Cooking
The Alberta Ski Team participated in cooking lessons as part of their nutritional training for the season. The program gave the athletes the chance to get hands on training in the preparation of the fuel they need to keep them going in their world of ski racing.
Athletics Director Brett Zagozewski noted that “This is the direction we want to work with our integrated support team (IST) and the field of sport science. Practical training that both educates our athletes and provides them with the skills needed to take care of themselves as aspiring elite athletes is how we want to deliver this part of their program to them.”
We would like to thank the following individuals for their support: Thomas Grandi for supplying the Miele Kitchen in the Paintbox Lodge, Marcel Holzherr from CSC Calgary for training the athletes and Reid Bilben from the Alberta Sport Development Centre Calgary for funding the project.
